Read, dear.

MPH, Gramedia, Popular, Borders or any book store alike would be one of my must-go shops. Now you must be wondering why. Well, first and foremost, of course, I love reading. But more than that, I just love to walk through the many stacks of books available in the store, glancing through the name of the authors and the title of the book. And when there's a book of my interest, I might consider buying it. I usually feel a sense of enjoyment being surrounded by books. That, can't be explained though. I just feel that way. He he. I enjoy trailing my fingers on the books on the shelf while looking at the different sizes and covers. I love glancing through blurbs of the books which strikes my interest. Among my favourite sections are: Fiction, cooking/food, travels, hobbies, romance (ahem) just to name a few. But I'll normally go to the best sellers shelf, just to keep abreast with books/authors which I might not be aware of.

Thank God, Den shares the same interest! :) And recently we went to the biggest book sale in the world and spent around rm200+. We managed to get more than 25 books (if I'm not mistaken). And I was elated! :)

Actually, I grew up reading a lot of novels, both Malay and English. I still remember my dear dorm-mate, Nana, who was the owner of a mini-library (of Malay novels). She has a record of those who borrowed her books, and we had to agree to certain terms and conditions (which I can still remember!) for example books should be returned within 1 week. This is to be fair to the rest who have the intention of borrowing the same novel from her; and those who borrowed her book are not allow to hand it over to another person within the borrowing period. We can choose from a variety of 100+ books. I'm not exaggerating, really. She has that many! One of the books which was (and will always be) my favourite is Ombak Rindu by Fauziah Ashari. Why? It was my 1st Malay novel! He he.

But there's another story that I want to share with you. Den and I went to Alamanda last week. He wanted to buy a book for one of his classes. While waiting, I browsed through some of the books on the shelf nearby. What caught my attention was this:

And I was smiling to myself. This novel definitely reminded me of my highschool memories. The most used word upon seeing a person reading or holding a novel was "after!" or "aku nak after tau", indicating the intention of wanting to borrow it after one is done. So there I was, contemplating whether or not to buy it. And suddenly Den approached me, he already paid for the book he wanted to buy earlier. So I said, lets go. But he hesitated. To my surprise, he said this "Eh, I know this novel! Wasn't it popular? Do you want to buy it?" And I was like, "Err..errr.. I dunno..". (Really, I don't know if he's just trying to be nice or he really knows the existence of the novel, or maybe his sister has it, but wth, layankan je lah..he he). So he asked me to pick one, and stormed to the cashier. Half way, he turned around and said, "Eh, you go and pay lah!". And I LOL-ed. Ha ha ha. Really it was hilarious. Imagine the sight of a man getting excited about a Malay novel, which obviously is very much stereotyped as corny, jiwang, etc. But he ended up saying, "Oh, never mind!". And I smiled.

P.S Thank you for being such a sweetheart. I love you. :)

*** Ombak Rindu has been turned into a movie! And it's gonna be released end of this year. I can't waitttttt!!!!! :D

Can I have him to sing me to sleep at night?

I am so in love with Chuck and Flynn/Eugene (sebenarnya nak tulis Zachary Levi tapi it sounds more decent to refer to him using his character name. Therefore I don't feel that guilty because I fall in love with a character, not the actual person. HAHAHA).

I've just watched Tangled recently. Got the copy from my sister. I watched Tangled and I really fell for Flynn/Eugene. His voice sounds familiar. Very familiar. And when he sang I see the Light, I fell more in love with him. Seriously. And so happened that the credits at the end of the movie was not included. So I Google-d and there you go. It was HIM singing. And I didn't know that he can sing that well. I love youuuuu Chuck/Flynn/Eugene/Zachary Levi but I love my fiance more. But I love you jugakkkk! Hehehe. Please please please listen to Zachary Levi & Mandy Moore (I see the Light) and Katherine McPhee recorded Terrified featuring him.

Are you on diet?

That was the question asked by a girl (whom I haven't met for quite some time) when I bumped into her this evening. And I said NO. I'm never on diet. I eat a lot and I have a big stomach. And I never say no to food. :P

So we talked and again she asked if I'm taking any supplement or health food. Or do I exercise. Or eat 'selectively'. And I just laughed because I did none of those. I'm a lazy bump when it comes to exercising. I don't like to jog because I don't feel comfortable running in public. But she insisted to know (and at that point of time I already feel a bit annoyed). It's not like I'm kurus kering. Haih. -_-"

So I said to her, my only healthy tips is 10000 steps a day. So far I think that it's a good way of exercising without you putting too much effort. It's a natural way of exercising (sometimes, without you realizing). Err, and this has nothing to do with MOH's campaign. This is what I have been practicing for years already. And so far it works. :)

Of men and compliments

Like any other guy, Den seldom gives compliments (except when he was 'forced' to do so, of course). He picked me up the other day for lunch. And as soon as I entered the car he was like, "Oh, I think you're fat." I thought that that was just it, when he continued "See, you even have double chins now." Now that, according to him, should be taken as a compliment. I'm confused. O_o

P.S. His lines should be followed by "You're not fat. You're just curvy". That's more like it. :D

I wonder why

...some people like to publicize VERY sensitive personal issues. I personally think that it's disrespectful to let the whole wide world to know about things which are meant to be personal, especially those involving their family, parents, or significant other. Perkara yang baik tak apa, yang buruk, jangan lah, please? Tak baik.

UFO - Read: Unpleasant (GROSS) Floating Object

Y'know sometimes my brain thinks a lot when I'm in a public toilet. Why? You see, most of the time you could see people doing stupid things there. Since the name is public toilet, it literally means that everyone is entitled to the 'job' to keep the toilet clean. 'Kebersihan tanggungjawab bersama'. Ring a bell?

Well something really undesirable happened to me when I was about to enter a public toilet, or more politely washroom/ ladies which ever you prefer, I immediately saw this UFO in the toilet bowl and I almost puked! Almost almost almost. The BEST part is, I'd just finished my breakfast! So inconsiderate lah that moron who didn't know how to flush. Haish.

I decided to come out with a list of unethical manners some people normally do in public toilets in general.
  1. Use the toilet and don't flush. (This is when you get to see UFO's inside the toilet bowls. *puke*. Please check whether or not the flush is usable and most importantly if there's water supply)
  2. Not able to differentiate sitting and squatting toilet bowls (Hence, the lids will be covered with dirt from shoes/slippers. Eyewwwww)
  3. Cover the toilet bowl lid with loads and loads of tissues but don't remove them when they're done. (Hygiene freak la konon but pengotor jugak)
  4. Don't return the bidet to the hook (If the hook don't exist maybe you can try to simpul the hose or whatever as long as it's not on the floor please)
  5. Use tissues but end up throwing them all over the place. (Disgusting. Especially when you can't tell if they have been used to wipe any related body parts. *puke*)
  6. .... I'm sure there are more. Right?
I have no clue why I'm writing this disgusting entry. I just hope that public toilet users will be more 'wise' and to prove it by being more responsible.

P.S I know this is crap. But thank u for reading. :P

I heart G-O-O-G-L-E!

Sunny Day
Sweepin' the clouds away
On my way to where the air is sweet

Can you tell me how to get,
How to get to Sesame Street

Come and play
Everything's A-OK
Friendly neighbors there
That's where we meet

Can you tell me how to get
How to get to Sesame Street

It's a magic carpet ride
Every door will open wide
To Happy people like you--
Happy people like
What a beautiful

Sunny Day
Sweepin' the clouds away
On my way to where the air is sweet

Can you tell me how to get,
How to get to Sesame street...
How to get to Sesame Street
How to get to..

Thank you Google for bringing back my childhood memories, those which I had with my sister(s) because we used to sing this song together back then. (Despite the fact that we never knew the accurate lyrics of the song. So most of the time we made up our own but it was fun singing our hearts out, really). Happy 40th Anniversary Sesame Street. And thank you Google, for coming out with these lovely doodles!!!!!!!

Part 1: Ernie & Bert

Part 2: Big Bird
Part 3: Cookie Monster (my personal fav!)

Part 4: Oscar
Part 5: Elmo

Part 6: Count Von Count

I printscreen-ed some of these and Googled for the rest. They made my day, seriously. :)

Sh*t happens for a reason. Kan?

Today, I have learned that it is not okay to just nod and agree with others.
I learned that everything is going the other way around, and the saying 'buat baik dibalas baik' no longer exists. (Well, there's an exception if the balasan baik is from Allah).
I also learned that there's a kind of virus, a very dangerous one, which has polluted people's way of treating another human for the sake of their personal benefit. And I wonder what kind of people will we have in the society in the years to come.
Nowadays, if a person is being too nice to others, she'll be called stupid, rather than being acknowledged for whatever good things she's done for others. Orang ambil kesempatan lagi ada lah! Grrr

The moral of the story is: Stop being too good to others. Being good is enough. Too good is too much! Hehe. The nicer way to say it is - Be moderate in whatever you do.

I need a haircut!

So mom promised me that she will cut my hair for me, but that's only after she attend classes on hair-cutting conducted by a person who's working with Wella. Okay I soooooo need a haircut because:

1. My hair is getting longer I can't stand it anymore.
2. I'm experiencing this sort of-psychological effect where I think that my head gets heavier.
3. I don't mind cutting my hair because I know that the hair will grow longer anyway.
4. I just need a haircut!

I surveyed some hairstyles I might want to propose to Kakak Amoi. I googled round face hairstyle and these are some which came out. (Okay, I know, xde kerja kan?)

#1

#2

#3

#4

Processing information:
.........

.............

.................

Okay #1 and #4 would be possible only if I use the straightening iron everyday. #2 hm..curls would never look good on me because of the extra fat on my cheeks. Should I get my hair layered (#3) again? Hm, hm, hm.. I don't think so.

Okay I don't care what kind of hairstyle you'll end up with!! (Echoes of Mama's voice). Tee hee. I don't even know why I posted this in the first place. lol.

Have a great day peeps!
xoxo

Hello, anyone there?

**Kris Allen - No boundaries

I'm sorry for the very long silence. So you've noticed that I don't write very often these days. Will you accept the lame 'I'm-too busy-as busy as a bee' excuse? Please do. Hehe. And I'm starting to feel like I don't know how to write anymore. (So this gonna be a very random 'just so u know-I'm still alive' update).

Life's treating me well. To a certain extent, I'm more than happy that the teaching practice has come to an end. The 3-friggin' months. I would say it was not that bad. And with the PERFECT ending, I couldn't feel any happier. So the undergrad life has ended and it's about time to move to a new chapter of formal education. I can't say another stage of life because that will lead to a whole different story if u know what I mean. Anyways, I'll pursue masters degree in UPM. And classes will start next week. I didn't have a lot of time deciding what to do, what programe should I take, what this and that. Yada yada yada. But life has to go on.

The GRF interview was very brief. (Sia2 saje ketakutan semalaman. Duh!). I've been offered to work with my former lecturer. Now I have to start reading the novels all over again. Lucky me, the summary and short notes are still there, so I hope those will prevent me from falling asleep after reading ONE page of those thick classic books. I hope I'll be able to finish all of them before the new semester starts. And start to plan what to teach. The challenge must be different, tutoring my very own juniors. But I hope I'll be fine.

I hope all of you are doing great, too!
Cheers! xoxo

P/s: Happy 54th birthday Ayah. You don't look 54. Not even close. Jeles!
