A man who carries a pink umbrella ella ella

I just love any conversation I had with my dad. He is a funny man. He likes to make his so-called 'unintended jokes'. He's my best friend. Okay I should rephrase that. He's one of my best friends. Ya, better.

Today he was on his way to attend a lecture when it was raining cats and dogs. And he was searching for an umbrella when there is actually an umbrella in the office. So here's what happened.

Dad: How am I supposed to go out? There's no umbrella.
Me: What? There's an umbrella behind that pillar.
Dad: Boleh guna ke ni?
Me: Boleh, payung tu ok, tak rosak.
Dad: Tapi ni kan payung perempuan, warna pink.
Me: -_-"

UFO - Read: Unpleasant (GROSS) Floating Object

Y'know sometimes my brain thinks a lot when I'm in a public toilet. Why? You see, most of the time you could see people doing stupid things there. Since the name is public toilet, it literally means that everyone is entitled to the 'job' to keep the toilet clean. 'Kebersihan tanggungjawab bersama'. Ring a bell?

Well something really undesirable happened to me when I was about to enter a public toilet, or more politely washroom/ ladies which ever you prefer, I immediately saw this UFO in the toilet bowl and I almost puked! Almost almost almost. The BEST part is, I'd just finished my breakfast! So inconsiderate lah that moron who didn't know how to flush. Haish.

I decided to come out with a list of unethical manners some people normally do in public toilets in general.
  1. Use the toilet and don't flush. (This is when you get to see UFO's inside the toilet bowls. *puke*. Please check whether or not the flush is usable and most importantly if there's water supply)
  2. Not able to differentiate sitting and squatting toilet bowls (Hence, the lids will be covered with dirt from shoes/slippers. Eyewwwww)
  3. Cover the toilet bowl lid with loads and loads of tissues but don't remove them when they're done. (Hygiene freak la konon but pengotor jugak)
  4. Don't return the bidet to the hook (If the hook don't exist maybe you can try to simpul the hose or whatever as long as it's not on the floor please)
  5. Use tissues but end up throwing them all over the place. (Disgusting. Especially when you can't tell if they have been used to wipe any related body parts. *puke*)
  6. .... I'm sure there are more. Right?
I have no clue why I'm writing this disgusting entry. I just hope that public toilet users will be more 'wise' and to prove it by being more responsible.

Mimie_t; in support of CLEAN PUBLIC TOILETS.

P.S I know this is crap. But thank u for reading. :P

One more paper and let's call it a semester! :)

I'm writing today because I'm starting to feel like I need to get some fresh air but it's raining outside so I had nowhere to go. The air is wet these days. I think a cup of hot chocolate will trigger my brain to give me even more inspiration. But that's like impossible here in this small room. Duh! But maybe I should consider having a mini-pantry here. That'd be fun, no? Think of having good friends to drink with and have a nice chat. Hmmm. Okay that's enough.

I'm just grateful that I'm almost done with the first semester! Hoyeahhh. It was weird at the beginning. But later everything seems to fall in place. (Thank you Allah, Alhamdulillah.) So I hope that next semester will be another great journey (mcm la 1st sem ni great habis!? Haha). I feel a lil bit nervous about finding the right topic for the thesis. Leceh la. I need more inspiration. I need to read more so that I can think more and I don't want to be trapped in this limited space in my brain. I will start to indulge in more readings this semester break. That's my promise.

I heart G-O-O-G-L-E!

Sunny Day
Sweepin' the clouds away
On my way to where the air is sweet

Can you tell me how to get,
How to get to Sesame Street

Come and play
Everything's A-OK
Friendly neighbors there
That's where we meet

Can you tell me how to get
How to get to Sesame Street

It's a magic carpet ride
Every door will open wide
To Happy people like you--
Happy people like
What a beautiful

Sunny Day
Sweepin' the clouds away
On my way to where the air is sweet

Can you tell me how to get,
How to get to Sesame street...
How to get to Sesame Street
How to get to..

Thank you Google for bringing back my childhood memories, those which I had with my sister(s) because we used to sing this song together back then. (Despite the fact that we never knew the accurate lyrics of the song. So most of the time we made up our own but it was fun singing our hearts out, really). Happy 40th Anniversary Sesame Street. And thank you Google, for coming out with these lovely doodles!!!!!!!

Part 1: Ernie & Bert

Part 2: Big Bird
Part 3: Cookie Monster (my personal fav!)

Part 4: Oscar
Part 5: Elmo

Part 6: Count Von Count

I printscreen-ed some of these and Googled for the rest. They made my day, seriously. :)

*Blush*

I was helping Den to carry boxes of glassware to his lab when his bosses informed that they're waiting at the lab. And I was wondering how he would react since both of them are right in front of us.

Boss 1: Sorry you had to carry these.
D: No its okay.
Boss 1: .....And who's this?
D: This is my girlfriend.

P.S I love you.

P.P.S I know you're reading this, and I know you're smiling. :)

Of wedding bells and DB driver(s)

Okay I have abandoned this blog for so long. Allow me to ramble like a mad cow this time around. He he.

So a lot of my friends are getting married. Or Alhamdulillah, married. Or engaged. Or being proposed to. Or involved with events which involve rings or anything similar to that. It's like a complete round of invitations since they came from friends back in primary, stf, kmns and Tesl UPM. I just love weddings! :) Congtratulations to those who are getting married, or 've recently got married. I went down south to attend Wajy's wedding last 2weeks and I tell you; she's pretty and gorgeous and charming and I think she's among the prettiest brides I've ever seen. (Well, some people might beg to differ 'cuz they'll say "all brides are pretty". But this is serious pretty y'all.) And I'd hafta admit that I fantasized (now that's not a nice word to use due to the various meanings it implies. Eheh) but yeah I did, about my own wedding. Which will not happen in the near years of course. [gila kau nk langkah bendul? Okay enough of that.] And weddings are fun because I get to see friends I haven't meet for so long. So it was sort of a reunion or rather gathering that day. To those who were there, thank you for the wonderful time! I heart all of yous.

The second topic of the day would be DoucheBag drivers. I HATE wreckless drivers because I'm not one. Okay you think I'm a 'driving miss daisy'? Fine, fine. But at least I was never at the attempt of hurting others. Oh sooooo I was involved in a mini accident yesterday. A car hit me from the back. The driver was trying hard to win whatever race he was involved in and he believes that 'yellow' is to ACCELERATE, (d**n you, Bummer!!), hence he hit my car. THE car. . Yes, THE car. Tsk tsk. But luckily nothing bad happened to me but poor Bekamon, he had a dent in the bumper. I hate you I hate you I hate you! And the sensor went cuckoooooooooo!!!! I hate you square (kuasa dua)! Rage rage. But anyway, s**t happens, and I thank Allah, for nothing bad happend to me. Alhamdulillah. See, even if you are careful enough, accidents do occur. And especially, especially in Meru, sometimes you are forced to be rude on the road, due to plain stupidity, or the intolerable acts other people do. If you think you are careful enough, you need to be twice careful if you are driving there. The moral of the story is, patience is virtue.

P.S: I have a paper tomorrow. My 1st final exam for the Ms degree. Teruja! ( Ya, right) :P

Soo sorry

Dear all,
I decided to change my blog layout today. So happens that this PC refused to behave and I failed to link your blogs to mine. But don't worry I'll do so when I get back to spending time in front of my lappy again.

Later!

PS: I chose this layout because
  1. Its pink. Hehe
  2. There's a cat sleeping on the sofa. I always love LOVE cats but my mom never allow us to have one as a pet. :( So maybe that explains the girls facial expression whilst looking at the cat. Its like 'so close and still so far'. :( :( Wait until I have my own house, I'll definitely have one!!! (If this doesn't make any sense just ignore my ramblings)

Sh*t happens for a reason. Kan?

Today, I have learned that it is not okay to just nod and agree with others.
I learned that everything is going the other way around, and the saying 'buat baik dibalas baik' no longer exists. (Well, there's an exception if the balasan baik is from Allah).
I also learned that there's a kind of virus, a very dangerous one, which has polluted people's way of treating another human for the sake of their personal benefit. And I wonder what kind of people will we have in the society in the years to come.
Nowadays, if a person is being too nice to others, she'll be called stupid, rather than being acknowledged for whatever good things she's done for others. Orang ambil kesempatan lagi ada lah! Grrr

The moral of the story is: Stop being too good to others. Being good is enough. Too good is too much! Hehe. The nicer way to say it is - Be moderate in whatever you do.

Have a blessed Ramadhan. Insya Allah

Back to school

Quickies (bukan yang 8 tv punya)

I hate HATE my student ID number it's very difficult to remember.
I love TESL 5 (the students I'm tutoring) they're very nice and very nice. My vocab is limited, sorry.
I did my first M.Sc presentation it was great!
I missed undergrad life, I really do, I want to be the makcik kepoh I was back then and I also miss the other makcik kepohs.
I have a lot of assignments and most of them are journals/ articles I have no idea what to write about and the worst part is that I realize that procrastination is BAD but I procrastinate so that is the worst part. (Did I repeat the worst part twice? Okay I did)
I miss my friends I want to meet them but I always have something up during weekend and I'm not giving excuses, I promise it's not the "I'm busy,really-but- I can go out with my boyfriend pulak" excuse. I really am busy and I'm sorry for not being able to catch-up.

P.S: I need a break SOS

I need a haircut!

So mom promised me that she will cut my hair for me, but that's only after she attend classes on hair-cutting conducted by a person who's working with Wella. Okay I soooooo need a haircut because:

1. My hair is getting longer I can't stand it anymore.
2. I'm experiencing this sort of-psychological effect where I think that my head gets heavier.
3. I don't mind cutting my hair because I know that the hair will grow longer anyway.
4. I just need a haircut!

I surveyed some hairstyles I might want to propose to Kakak Amoi. I googled round face hairstyle and these are some which came out. (Okay, I know, xde kerja kan?)

#1

#2

#3

#4

Processing information:
.........

.............

.................

Okay #1 and #4 would be possible only if I use the straightening iron everyday. #2 hm..curls would never look good on me because of the extra fat on my cheeks. Should I get my hair layered (#3) again? Hm, hm, hm.. I don't think so.

Okay I don't care what kind of hairstyle you'll end up with!! (Echoes of Mama's voice). Tee hee. I don't even know why I posted this in the first place. lol.

Have a great day peeps!
xoxo

Hello, anyone there?

**Kris Allen - No boundaries

I'm sorry for the very long silence. So you've noticed that I don't write very often these days. Will you accept the lame 'I'm-too busy-as busy as a bee' excuse? Please do. Hehe. And I'm starting to feel like I don't know how to write anymore. (So this gonna be a very random 'just so u know-I'm still alive' update).

Life's treating me well. To a certain extent, I'm more than happy that the teaching practice has come to an end. The 3-friggin' months. I would say it was not that bad. And with the PERFECT ending, I couldn't feel any happier. So the undergrad life has ended and it's about time to move to a new chapter of formal education. I can't say another stage of life because that will lead to a whole different story if u know what I mean. Anyways, I'll pursue masters degree in UPM. And classes will start next week. I didn't have a lot of time deciding what to do, what programe should I take, what this and that. Yada yada yada. But life has to go on.

The GRF interview was very brief. (Sia2 saje ketakutan semalaman. Duh!). I've been offered to work with my former lecturer. Now I have to start reading the novels all over again. Lucky me, the summary and short notes are still there, so I hope those will prevent me from falling asleep after reading ONE page of those thick classic books. I hope I'll be able to finish all of them before the new semester starts. And start to plan what to teach. The challenge must be different, tutoring my very own juniors. But I hope I'll be fine.

I hope all of you are doing great, too!
Cheers! xoxo

P/s: Happy 54th birthday Ayah. You don't look 54. Not even close. Jeles!

Part 1

I'd say the first week in school was OK. Teaching itself is not that tiring. I have no class to teach on Thursday but that officially means that I'll have to relief classes AND we had to stay back after the school session ends to attend activities from meetings, to briefings, to co-curricular activities, to Usrahs on Fridays (:P). Well I hope we'll survive the other 11 weeks. And oh, I'm teaching From 4. Just to share bits of what happened this week.
  1. A class monitor decided to greet me "Assalamualaikum Sayang" when it was supposed to be CIKGU or TEACHER. But no worries his classmates didn't follow the lead.
  2. A student proposed me in class. He asked me to give back his ring another 5 years. (Oh! I politely rejected his proposal).
  3. My students have long names so I asked them to introduce themselves along with their nicknames. One boy said, "Nak panggil saya abang pn blh". (Eyewwww).
  4. My guru pembimbing is a preggy mommy. And she's a very COLD person. :(
  5. It's great that Ira and I are teaching only Form 4 and we get to do our lesson plans together. YAY! :)
  6. A teacher asked us to help her out for her daughter's assignment. We gotta do her public speaking speech. (Part time job)
  7. We're assigned to do the backdrop for Hari Anugerah Cemerlang.
Thats all for now. Will get back to all of yous next week.
Have fun people!

P/s: Sabtu pn kena pegi sekolah okkkay? :((

Finally.

Life's treating me well. This week would be our final week in UPM. Done with the lectures, assignments and soon the final exams. Teaching practice starts next month so I still have time to lepak around and do nothing. Okay, that's a big lie. Mama's salon is moving downstairs and there's so much to do until the renovation is complete. I've nothing much to say this time around. But perhaps this is just to let you know that I'm doing fine, maybe a little busy. I hope I can meet THE friends anytime soon (you guys are deeply missed).

Today.

Alright there's a reason why I decided to have that as the title of the post. I'll tell you about it in a bit. Early in the morning we had to listen to a presentation by an Iranian (I think) PhD student on Music as a therapy for teaching mentally retarded children. It was quite interesting, well not really but at least I think he really knew what he was talking about. Then there was Dr. Foo's class and again he ended the class a little early (we love you!) and he made this special statement which was "Some people have skin allergies but you guys are totally different because you're allergic to 'time'". Couldn't agree better. Ha ha. Then on my way back I bumped into my tutor back in semester 4 if I'm not mistaken. We exchanged smiles and he asked a few questions and I can't help but at that very moment I was trying really hard to recall his name. After we said goodbye, I came to my senses. Okay his name is Mr. Too. Dad was like, "Hello? Even I know his name. You've got only 2 tutors right? The other is Burn, no?" Note: This is what happens when you have your dad in the same faculty and he obviously knows almost every single person there. (Moral: Berhentilah duduk bawah ketiak ibu bapa.Hehe).

Okay all those are actually commercials. Back to what I'm supposed to tell you. I went to visit a lecturer who had complications after her appendix removal surgery. I didn't know her that well but I heard that she was one healthy lady. Seeing her lying on the bed in the ICU, I can only pray that she will be get better Insya Allah. After sharing a few thoughts with Dad, I ended up thinking. I still have today when I can attend classes, gossip with friends, to laugh, to smile, to do my bloody assignments and whatever I want to do, but what about tomorrow? We'll never know what will happen the next minute, hour or day, and we can't predict what's written, because Allah said, 'kun fayakun'. Talking of which, I've realised that I had so many things to do, but it seems like there's so little time. I think I'd have to cancel out some very ridiculous-will never happen-not in a million years items in my wishlist. Yeah, we can always plan things but HE knows best. Life's short they say. But we'll never know how short is 'short'? It's beyond imagination. Every beginning has its own ending. So as life.

So, Today I've learned that we shouldn't take things for granted.

Kinohimitsu Oh Yeaah!

Tired of Pajama Parties (okay setiap malam pn pakai PJs kot? tp xde aktiviti pn. heh) and wearing mud-like-green masks (efforts to immitate Jim Carrey in The Mask), we decided to do something else yesterday. Thanks to my little sister Syira, who sponsored the pads this time around. Just before we were off to sleep, first we prepared the pads. These were what they look like.

Before
*so clean*

My cute little feet.
*2 minutes after applying the patches, they started to produce heat (notice the two circles, they are called the warming micro-capsules)*

After
*
Okay I know this may look a bit menggelikan but those were the toxin captured by the health pads*

I woke up feeling much better today. There's a lot of ways to detox our body. Gee, I actually have a few kilometers to run in a jiffy. Takasima, here I come!!

Have a good day people. :)

Somebody please pinch me.

Okay. This is just another random posting. I was supposed to start doing my assignments and yet, here I am hitting the letters on the keyboard while humming my daily anthem. Sigh. But after quite a long week, I think I should have a well deserved rest. Right. And that explains why I woke up at 11.25 am this morning. He he.

I love Fridays, because it brings a lot of happiness. The once in a week sermon and reminders. The weekend. The kids I teach on Sundays.

But today is rather special because they will be home! Well yeah, the laundry would be extremely difficult to handle. The house will be messy after 5 minutes you've done cleaning up. The PC will not have time to rest. The kitchen table will be loaded with foooood! This will last about a week. But me likey likey. I don't mind. Not at all. :)

To them, Welcome home.

Am confused.

Really. Is jealousy a good thing or the opposite?

It typically refers to the negative thoughts and feelings of insecurity, fear, and anxiety that occur when a person believes a valued relationship is being threatened by a rival.

Cemburu tandanya sayang.

Right.

Sepi.

Just had dinner. Just the four of us. Mom, Dad, Along and I.

I wish I can have everyone at home right now.
I wish we had more time to have fun.

I miss my sister and brothers.

P/s: Rumah sgt bersih dan kemas. Dan sunyi sepi. I miss them already. Sobs.

A Fantabulous Day.

I'll start off with a Hello, Goodbye poem.

Hello, 2009
Goodbye, 2008.

Gee, that was easy. (Selalu mcm susah je nk buat bila Dr. Jaya suruh buat poem begini. Lol).

Anyways, our family had the very first Family Day. It was fun-kampung style event, really. Most of us managed to make it. There were lots of activities being held according to several categories and age groups. For me, the best part of it was to see my uncles and aunts who (mostly) have their own grandchilds, act like a kid themselves especially when they played the musical chair. And so I knew that my dad loves to play it too. It was hillarious.

My brothers participated in the Fishing Contest. Unfortunately, they didn't manage to catch any fish. Not even one. But here is a picture of them, I think they had fun at least, since it was their first attempt. I blame the technology for introducing online games and whatnot, leaving them with no choice but to enjoy sitting in front of our PC 24/7.
Brothers, cousins and uncle.

BTW, I participated in one of the categories and apparently I won the first prize for Pertandingan Tiup Belon Paling Besar. Kategori 18 tahun keatas. Okay, it was not THAT challenging. Okay, not at all. Haha. But hey, I won.

Us, in action. I'm the second from right.

Prize giving ceremony. :)

It was a tiring day. But its worthit. Anyways, Happy New Year Y'all.

P/s: How did you guys spend the very first day of the new year?
